Laguna Redang Island Resort

There’s a lot to like here: the buffet has plenty of variety, the water activities are well organized, and the guides are very helpful. Their beach really is like the Maldives. Service was fantastic from the start, including their own desk in the airport arrivals hall, and the staff clearly care about guests having a good stay. The room setup and housekeeping were good too. The bathroom needs attention. The floor slopes the wrong way, so shower water runs into the hallway and pools there. There’s also no health faucet by the toilet, which is uncomfortable for our kids.

The sea was beautiful, though there weren’t many corals. It was really hot, and there were lots of mosquitoes. Still, this was my best stay in Redang so far. There were plenty of activities, including snorkeling, archery, and coloring contests for kids. Our room was spacious, with a clean bed that was very comfortable. Most staff were friendly and helpful, but the people at the bar had a bad attitude.

The hotel itself was good, and we stayed in April 2026. But the bar staff left us waiting almost 15 minutes for coffee, only for us to realize our order had never been taken. Then she casually asked whether we’d ordered. That really tested our patience. We’d had the same experience on our September 2025 visit, with the same staff member and the same cold manner. At least it’s consistent. Maybe the bar team could pay a bit more attention and be friendlier.

We loved the beachfront setting, with white sand and clear water right outside. The rooms were clean, and the family-friendly facilities made it easy to relax between snorkeling trips with the kids. A great spot for a family getaway, highly recommended.
