For RM 75, I got an old, run-down room with a toilet that smelled and a floor that didn't look clean. The hairdryer and TV were both broken, and even after I asked, they didn't provide an electric kettle. The window wouldn't shut all the way, so mosquitoes got in. I'd stayed at a budget hotel just before this for RM 35 a night, and that one seemed better. What a waste of money. I thought they'd improved, but judging by the reviews, they still suck.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The room was so old, and the bathroom stank whenever I flushed. The carpet stung, the door knob barely locked, and the heater, hairdryer, and TV didn't work. You could hear what the person next door was doing, and the window wouldn't close properly, so there were loads of mosquitoes. Such a waste of money. I'd rather pay 100+ for a hotel than stay in this disgusting one. 0/10.

After not staying here for a few years, I was surprised by how poor the room was, even at about MYR50 per night. This was Room 402 on the 4th Floor, for 24-25 April 2023 (MON-TUE), and it's my last stay here unless management improves things. The room looked old and was hot, with warm air conditioning and a wall fan that didn't work. The bed was broken, the mini fridge didn't work, and there was no kettle or WiFi. The old TV had no channels, and the window glass was very dirty. Furniture including the wardrobe, luggage bench, TV cabinet, and vanity desk was scratched and stained. The guest lift was dirty, hot, smelly, and very slow. The bathroom floor was wet at check-in, with lots of fungus on the marble. The toilet flush didn't work properly, and the bidet hose holder was missing. I hope the hotel works on its service quality if it wants to stay relevant.

If you're after a budget hotel, this is one, but the room we booked had a broken door knob and a fan that didn't work. It's old and wooden throughout, with a stiff bed and an old TV. Nothing about the place feels modern, and both the heater and air conditioning take a while to start.

I came back hoping to relive old memories, but after two days here I ended up with flu, a fever, and an allergy reaction from the dust. The room was filthy and run-down: the bed was yellowish, there was visible hair on the floor, and the old curtains I remember from 20 years ago were now covered in mold. One lamp had broken glass, and although the TV was new, it had no connection or channels. We found two cockroaches, one running around and one dead in the closet. The toilet was very dark, and there was no drinking glass or toilet paper. This hotel meant a lot to me. About 20 years ago it was one of the popular hotels in Sandakan, and my family always stayed here when we visited. Even former staff still recognized us. It's sad to see how much it's changed. For MYR85, you can find a much better budget hotel. I hope management does a major renovation.
