The mattress was uncomfortable and in bad shape, and the bathroom flush didn’t work properly. The room also smelled unpleasant, and even the towels seemed unhygienic. Cleanliness was generally lacking, and management handled things poorly. The room looked very different from the promotional photos, which was disappointing and misleading.

The elevator was out of order, and we were given just one towel for both of us. It looked about 20 years old, too. The place was damp, dusty, and smelled of mold so badly that I regretted every deep breath. There were bugs everywhere, and four days later I’m still finding them crawling out of my luggage.

The room was spacious, and I really liked the one I got. We stayed two nights and had a great time. The staff were welcoming, and the basics were all there and working well. Customer service responded when I made requests. There’s free parking, so you don’t have to worry about leaving your car somewhere unauthorized. I forgot to take photos.

The staff made us feel very welcome, and it was a great base for exploring sandakan and its santuaries. The room was fine, with the basic necessities you’d expect, though it was a little dusty.

We arrived to find there was no water, and the hotel offered no alternative. They only told me they were fixing the plumbing, which turned out to be a lie. A disastrous stay. I felt misled by the Agoda reviews.
