Sukau Greenview Bed and Breakfast

The activities really made the trip. Captain Jack was professional and knew his stuff, taking us out to look for crocodiles and baby elephants, as well as on jungle walks. I don’t often comment on guides, but he deserves a big shout-out. The room was better than I expected, with air conditioning, hot water, and new facilities, though the water pressure was low. Such a great experience!

We saw so many animals, including proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, orangutans, hornbills, kingfishers, a monitor lizard, terrapin, eel, and insects. The included night walk was a nice extra, and I couldn’t find that offered elsewhere. The lodge was budget friendly, with incredible service. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff kept us clear on the itinerary and meeting times. The food was delicious, and they made a separate tempeh or tofu dish for me as a vegetarian. There were two adorable kittens, too. I left my earphones in the dorm, and they got them to my hostel in sandakan the next morning without any hassle. Suitable for all ages, and I’d definitely recommend it.

We spent 3D2N at Sukau Greenview Lodge and had an amazing time. The staff were kind and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the local food was delicious. Our guide taught us about the birds, apes, crocodiles, and insects in the forest all day. Props to him. We’d absolutely go back.

The staff were so friendly and knew a lot about the river, animals, and plants. Hakimi took especially good care of us on the cruises, and I’d also recommend the guided tour of the history and local artifacts on the second floor. We loved our stay, especially for the price, about $200 USD per person for 3D2N when booked directly. They picked us up in Sandakan and dropped us at Sepilok, all included. We’ll come back to see the elephants and stay here again. The cruises and walks were great. We saw 4/5, missing the Pygmy Elephants. My one criticism is that they don’t use radios to let each other know when they’ve spotted something. We were only a few minutes away from the elephants, but didn’t know about them and missed seeing them. The lodge is beautiful, and the rooms are really nice and comfortable, with AC and hot water. The dining area is clean and pleasant. The food was amazing, with an all-you-can-eat buffet and plenty to eat. Coffee, tea, and water were available 24/7, and the coffee was really good. They also serve juice with meals, fruit, lots of veggie options, and usually two kinds of protein. There were veggie options for people who asked, too.
