We booked Room 107 from October 21 to 25, 2025, but left after just one night. There are two single beds on the ground floor, and mosquitoes kept coming through the toilet opening. When we asked for spray, the hotel said they didn’t have any. They only brought some after my aunt said we would move out. The room was noisy too, with a knocking sound from a nearby pump. We were told the hotel was full, so changing rooms wasn’t possible. The wooden toilet door was broken as well, and I hope the owner fixes it. In the end, we called Agoda to cancel. Their response was efficient and I got a refund right away.

Look somewhere else in Sandakan. The bathroom had black mould, and the air conditioner looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since installation. I got sick afterward and was unwell for over a week. I wouldn’t stay here, and I don’t believe the positive reviews. This is a disgusting hotel.

The room is basic but affordable and good value. It’s between town and Sepilok.

For what it costs, the hotel is okay, and the staff are nice. But our garbage was still full after we asked them to empty it. The room feels old, has only a small window, and there’s often a vibration noise. Thankfully it stops overnight, though it starts again in the morning. We also found a couple of ants, and the cleaning could be better. There’s a gym, restaurants, and laundry nearby, but you’ll need a vehicle to get around town and to the Sanctuary. It’s fine for a night or two.
