VIP Hotel Segamat

The breakfast was excellent, though the meat choices were limited, and check-in and checkout were quick and smooth. The room was clean and had a TV and fridge, and I especially liked the shower with its rainforest head. The grand lobby has a high ceiling, and glass facilities look out over the pool, gym, and spa, which has a fee. The hotel is a bit far from the town shops, but it’s very good overall, one of the few 4/5 stars hotels in Segamat.

I asked to change my check-in date under VIP Hotel Segamat’s cancellation and rescheduling policy, which says date changes are allowed subject to availability. They refused, saying there was no availability, even though the same dates still appeared available to book online. That felt very misleading, as if they were deliberately not honoring their own policy. The staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. They gave no proper explanation or alternative, only refused. Very disappointing service and unethical handling of customers. I strongly do NOT recommend this hotel.

We booked two rooms with breakfast included, and the simple spread was just right for the price. There were around 10-15 dishes, plus coffee, tea, and juices. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had enough amenities to make our stay convenient and relaxing. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, with enough toiletries. A good stay and value for money.

I was in and out within 12 hours. The hotel sits between a Caltex and a Petronas. My car was parked next to the former, and my room looked out toward the latter. Parking is mostly in front and along one side. The breakfast wasn’t extensive, but it was decent. The air-conditioning unit was placed quite strategically, blowing from the wall beside the beds. The wardrobe doors creaked like something from a haunted house. The hinges could use a little oil and TLC.
