The chalet was clean and cozy, and we liked the peaceful early-morning atmosphere. We stayed in A8 and A1, and both sliding doors could be locked. It was my first time staying in a palm oil area. The location is on private property, about 0.5 km from the main road between Tawau and Semporna, and not too far from the busy part of Semporna. At the junction there’s Restoran Anang, which serves tasty Chinese-style Nasi Ayam, and a Bataras Supermarket. There are also plenty of seafood restaurants nearby. A couple of things could be improved: the TV is too small, and the sliding-door curtains are so thin that I could see people in the other chalet, which meant no privacy. I’d suggest thicker or sun-proof curtains. Also, call to confirm your online booking before check-in.

It’s tucked away from Semporna’s bustle, and the chalets have the kind of rumah kampung feel that brings back nostalgic memories. They’re spacious and clean, with very good amenities for what we paid, about RM65 a night. Being a bit secluded wasn’t a problem since the Grab drivers seemed to know the way. I’d definitely stay here again.

For RM63, I got a fairly large, comfortable room. The TV was so small it seemed more like decoration. The bigger issue was how slowly the water ran in the bathroom.
