Angsa Hotel

For a budget hotel, you get what you pay for. The room was standard, cozy, and nicely cool, even though there was no remote to adjust the temperature. Checking in wasn't a great experience, as the staff weren't very talkative or friendly with guests. Getting to the room is awkward with lots of luggage because there's no lift.

The location is great, and you can walk to everything. The room, though, was filthy. The bedsheet was stained and yellow, so I had to buy my own sheets and pillowcases just to sleep. The AC was dusty and barely ventilated, the towels were so dirty I'd rather air-dry, and the bathroom smelled stuffy with mold on the walls, like it had never been cleaned. I was charged extra just to use the iron for five minutes, which is ridiculous. No housekeeping and no WiFi either. I've stayed in plenty of cheap hotels, but this one was hell. It was uncomfortable to sleep, and the dust and dirty bedding made me feel itchy. Providing a clean room, sheets, and towels doesn't cost much!

I checked in after 2 a.m. and found stains and holes in the linen. When I tried to shower early in the morning, the water heater was broken. They gave me a key to another room to use its shower, so I had to walk through the hotel wrapped in towels.

The location is good, and breakfast at a place two doors down was cheap and tasty. The receptionist was friendly too. But I wouldn't stay here again. There's a moldy, smoky smell inside, and although the room first looked okay and the AC worked, it was noisy. We were on the mezzanine floor, with bars on the windows, and heard road noise all night. The bathroom window was broken and wouldn't close properly; there was mold in the silicone and grout, filthy doors, and a cracked sink. The gray bedding didn't fit the bed, and the headboard was torn. The curtain didn't cover the window. The bed was comfortable enough, but I woke with a bad back and dreamed we'd been bitten during the night.
