Orange Villa Hotel

There wasn’t enough room to move around, and the room hadn’t been cleaned properly, with hair scattered everywhere. There were no three-in-one coffee or tea packets, and the air conditioner was aimed right at the bed. We’re paying more than 1 or 10 ringgit, so the service should be worthwhile and leave customers satisfied.

This was my first time being asked to pay the full amount upfront, then told there’d be no refund when I wanted to check out early. The boss called it hotel policy, but I couldn’t find that policy written anywhere. I offered to take water and cookies instead of the room charge that couldn’t be refunded, but they said sorry and wouldn’t allow it because the payment was already in the system. The system can be changed with a few clicks and an entry, so they shouldn’t demand full payment at the start. If you book here, ask about the policy first and don’t pay everything upfront.

The price is cheap and the room was clean, but watch out for the water heater and the very unfriendly staff. I told the man at the counter the heater wasn’t working, and he didn’t seem to care. He said he couldn’t leave the desk. How am I supposed to shower in cold water at night? I know I checked in late, but that doesn’t mean I should be given a room that doesn’t work properly.

Good for a short transit of about 10 hours. Maybe it was a villa 20 years ago, but it isn’t one now.
