The bed was so dirty I could still see hairs on it, and the room smelled damp and moldy. We didn’t stay the night. As soon as we saw the condition, we went to the counter to check out and complain, but they said a refund wasn’t possible. It makes me think the hotel can keep making money from guests who book, find the room unbearable, and leave without getting their money back. They don’t have to improve the place or clean rooms properly if they can just wait for the next fish to book.

The location is handy for The Mines and its convention centre, and there’s a mamak next door for food, though it isn’t open 24 hours. They also provide a free Coway water dispenser. But the sound insulation is poor. I’m not a light sleeper, yet doors slamming and people talking late woke me several times. In the morning the water heater had stopped, so I had to take a cold shower. The aircon swings between very cold and very warm, and the body shampoo hadn’t been refilled. Check-in and checkout are at reception in another block. My keycard wouldn’t work when tapped, so the receptionist gave me the door password. Hard to feel sure the place is safe that way.

The location was good, but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. I checked in at Sun Inns Dmind 1 around 16.30 on 3/6/23, went out without checking the bed, then returned at 22.30 and found blood stains in two places on the bed linen. I couldn’t get through to reception by phone, so at 23.00 I had to go with my child to Sun Inns Dmind 3, where the receptionist was. They sent back two sheets and told me to cover the stained ones already on the bed. It was a lot of hassle, and I was very disappointed by the cleanliness and the difficulty reaching anyone at night. Clean rooms are the bare minimum for a hotel. I hope they improve basic cleanliness and the phone line. I sent an email too, but got no reply.

A guest in another room smoked, and the smell came into mine. Really bad experience.
