I City Premier Suites Shah Alam

I’d avoid this homestay by maplehome. We had a terrible time, starting before check-in. There were no clear signs, and when we called for directions, the person said she’d send instructions on WhatsApp but didn’t. Instead, she asked us to share where we were so she could direct us. We were tourists with luggage and two young children, wandering around I City premier suite and asking people for help. There was no proper pedestrian route, so we had to go up and down the car park ramp to find the entrance. A car nearly hit my child. We called again, were asked to send a photo on WhatsApp, and only then got the directions. By that point we’d walked a big detour and ended up back where we started. It took nearly an hour. A staff member eventually took us to the office, though it wasn’t check-in time yet. She said they had sent the information through agoda and there might have been a glitch, and that she’d check. We never got an explanation before checkout. When we were shown the homestay, we were told we’d be satisfied, but the furniture was old, the sofa sagged, and the dining table had several stains. There was no toothbrush or toothpaste. The toilet handle was loose, and the water heater couldn’t be adjusted. It got so hot we nearly burned our hands. The air conditioning was old and had a broken flap. The cleanliness was a mess too. There were no hangers for clothes or towels, the bedsheet was stained, and ants were crawling on the kitchen cabinet. The next morning, while rushing to catch our bus, the toilet door locked with our child’s things still inside. I WhatsApped reception and got no answer, so I hurried to the counter. They said a technician would arrive in 15 minutes. I explained we were short on time, but the receptionist couldn’t reach him. Then she suggested using a coin to open the door. I refused because I didn’t want to risk damaging it and losing our deposit. She eventually came with me and fixed the door straight away. She could have done that earlier, but said she was the only person in the office. I’d already wasted time waiting while she tried to contact the technician several times. I also left a bad review on Agoda, but it still hadn’t appeared after three weeks, so I’m posting here to warn others. Avoid this place.
