The front desk makcik was a separate problem from the AGODA booking issue. If you book at the last minute through a third-party app, be careful. To be safe, don't book after 5pm. You might arrive to find that the booking never went through even though the money was deducted, or that the rooms are full and they can't take your booking. I'm not sure whether the makcik was the receptionist or a cleaner, but she wasn't helpful and got angry at me, even though I was the customer. She should learn some courtesy and customer service. She also spoke Iban, maybe because she thought we wouldn't understand what she was saying. We weren't trying to cause trouble, we just wanted the process to go smoothly. One staff member was okay and tried to answer my questions and explain what was going on. They said this happens all the time, so they should be alert and try to reduce the problem. Prevention is better than cure, but in the end they didn't take responsibility.

The front desk staff were friendly and gave good service. The room, though, had an old-fashioned design, and I found several 🪳 in there. They need to improve pest control.

It was so quiet that I wondered if I was the only guest there. I doubt the building had more than 10 people in it. My room was for three, with a bathtub in the toilet and an old TV that only got two main channels. I gave it four stars because of its age and the bathtub. It feels like a first-class hotel from the 80s or 90s.

The location in the centre of Sibu is great, and the rooms are spacious, but quite a few things need repair or replacement. The water pressure was low on the higher floors, and the air conditioning wasn't working very well. Compared with my visit three years earlier, there are improvements that should be made, especially now in 2024. Staff need better training too. I booked by phone with a particular room setup and price, but got a different room specification and a different price.

The reception area and entrance look nice, and the price is reasonable. In room 603, though, the shower holder and toilet flush handle were broken, and the ceiling exhaust fan was dirty. The split air conditioner wasn't cooling, and when I opened it, the filter was unclean. Maintenance is very poor. Please keep it up.
