Century Bay Private Residences

The balcony views were beautiful, especially once the sky cleared after the rain, and the lobby had a surprising amount of useful things. There’s a gym, basketball court, and paddle court too, though I forgot to take pictures of those. Century Bay Residence felt like home when I first arrived in Penang. The staff were so friendly and helpful that I extended my stay because I didn’t want to leave. Special thanks to Mr. Mahabur, one message away and somehow he gets everything sorted. That kind of service is rare. The first place I stayed in Malaysia made the trip memorable. Whether you’re in Penang briefly or staying longer, this is a place to consider. I had an amazing experience, and I’m grateful to the whole team.

We liked the vacation-cafe feel of the bar, and there were plenty of free things to do inside, including pool and pickleball tables and more. The staff were excellent, the service was great, and the location was close to the places we wanted to visit. The kitchen in our room was quite dirty, and the equipment looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in months. The washroom cleanliness was also a downside. The room was cheap, though, so I can’t complain too much. I’d give it 4.5 stars, minus half a star for the kitchen and washroom.

I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. The parking was comfortable and the place wasn’t too crowded. The room and toilet were both in good condition, the water pressure was strong, and the WiFi was fast. Everything else was satisfactory, though the air conditioning was a bit dusty and gave me a cold. The receptionist rarely answered calls, and I had to try many times before getting through. WhatsApp replies were slow too.

There’s a lot available here, including a pickleball court now, but the property itself is old and outdated. My nephew hurt his toe while swimming because a pool tile was chipped. I hope management maintains all the amenities properly and more regularly. The location is what makes the place worthwhile.
