A1 Hotel Sungai Petani

I came here to sleep, but was awake all night. Noise came from the thin walls, guests in the shared areas, doors slamming shut, lights under the door and from the keycard switch, the bathroom extractor fan, and the elevator. There was also a sound like someone pulling a vacuum cleaner out of a closet for three minutes every 15 minutes, plus a doorbell chime whenever anyone entered reception or the elevator. The bathroom fan couldn't be turned off, and the single pillow was small. The room itself was small, with a clean WC, kettle, one bottle of water, one tea, one coffee, a tiny desk, good AC, TV, and white bedding. If you're used to toxic city sound pollution, you might be fine here. The owner needs to deal with all the noise. Sorry, it's a one-star stay for me.

It’s easy to get around from this hotel since it’s right in the middle of town. The rooms were clean and nice, and there’s a water dispenser and coffee sachets too. Check-in and check-out were incredibly easy, and there was plenty of parking. All that for a really affordable price, so it felt worth it.

I had to make an emergency stop when business paused and was due to resume the next day. The hotel was a practical choice in the town center, with a clean, cosy room and a reasonable price. There’s plenty of parking, and food stalls and restaurants are within walking distance. Recommended.

Nothing fancy, but it’s clean and simple, and the price is fair. Good for a quick night’s stay, with a few thoughtful touches that you don’t always get at similar budget hotels around here.
