Beverly Hotel

We stopped here overnight on the way back from southern Thailand rather than drive all the way to Klang Valley. The hotel itself is basic, but the reception staff were so helpful that they more than made up for it. The concierge at Galaxy Hotel pointed us toward breakfast since there’s no cafe in the hotel. There’s a corner Mamak restaurant nearby serving roti canai in the morning. We also had a great dinner at a reasonably priced seafood restaurant about 15 minutes away. Good location for a stopover.

The room was a good size for the double bed I booked, and the people were friendly. You can get food and other things on foot, so the location is excellent. I’ll book again next time. Parking can be tricky, but you can stop in front of the lobby and the staff will guide you. Just remember there’s no lift from the parking area to the lobby, so leave any heavy bags at the lobby before parking. Enjoy your stay.

Front desk staff were really helpful and even offered to find me a parking spot. Parking itself is terrible, though, since customers from the bar and restaurant upstairs use the hotel spaces too. The room was clean. I’d say it’s fine for a solo trip or a rest, but not a family vacation.

The rooms were dirty and poorly maintained. There are lots of other good budget hotels in Taiping at about the same price, so I think the owner should adjust the rate to match the standard here.
