Flemington Hotel

The breakfast buffet was the part I liked least, with very limited choices. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable, the air conditioner worked well, and basic toiletries were provided, though there weren't many TV channels. Check-in was quick, and the staff were accommodating. Parking was available; if it filled up, staff directed guests to park across from the lake garden. The lobby is small, and the hotel is right in front of the lake garden.

The lakefront area was lovely to walk around, and the bed was very comfortable with nice-smelling sheets. We were in a premier king room facing the lake. But the hotel itself felt worn out and badly in need of repairs. Tape patched our bedroom door, the carpet was peeling, and there were flies in the sink and bedroom when we arrived. The staff seemed indifferent, and the stay was poor. The place has potential, but I think it should close for renovation.

I felt exposed with people walking through the lake garden able to see into the large window, so a sheer curtain or second layer would help. The premier rooms could also use an upgrade for comfort, and the bathroom plumbing needs regular attention instead of waiting for guests to report problems. Small touches like these would make people feel more welcome.

My wife and I had a terrible experience with the staff. When she couldn't understand the guard's directions about parking and asked him to repeat them, he shouted at her instead of explaining. There wasn't proper parking provided, so we ended up leaving the car outside, away from the hotel and without shade. The service and facilities need improvement. If negative stars were possible, I'd give this hotel one.
