We did get checked in in the end, though the reception team couldn’t find our booking and the computer wouldn’t start even after I pressed escape about 50 times. The staff were friendly despite the mix-up, and the older man was keen for a chat. Our room was fine apart from a strong musty smell. We only needed it for one night, so we stayed out in town, came back late, and left early. One thing for finding the place: Google Maps marks it as permanently closed, but it isn’t, and the entrance shown is wrong too. Go up Jalan Kausar and you’ll see it.

Really nice place, and the reception staff were friendly too. Everything was great overall, but the room smelled a bit, maybe because of the carpet.

It’s a quiet, relaxing place up on the hill, good for clearing your head. Finding the entrance was a little difficult.
