The Landmark by The Only Bnb

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and our unit was clean and well looked after. The view was really pretty, day and night. Only two of the three bedrooms had doors, so the third room could use one. The furniture could also be improved, but overall it was a good stay.

They reply quickly on WhatsApp, but we had to keep reminding them about daily cleaning and taking out the trash. The kitchen supplies were poor, with no pots and just one frying pan. These are very old-style apartments, and the building is around 15 years old. The facilities aren't well managed, and the rooms look much older than in the photos. There was dust everywhere, and despite the air fresheners, there was still a strong old smell.

The staff and guard were okay and helpful, but we were really disappointed with the room setup. I booked through Agoda for three rooms: the order was supposed to be two rooms with two queen beds each, plus one room with a king bed and a queen bed. Instead, we got one room with two queen beds and two rooms with only one queen bed each. On top of that, one room had no door. It was so strange. The swimming pool couldn't be used because the residents didn't permit it. The food wasn't recommended either.

There were a few minor cosmetic issues, which were understandable. Everything else was great: the location, facilities, access to other parts of Penang, and how quickly Grab could deliver or take us around. Best of all was the staff. Every person, from Dennis at reception to the cafe staff, cleaners, and security guards, treated us as if we were entering their own home. This stay wouldn't have been the same without Dennis. Our family stayed for an extended period and didn't lack anything. It was an incredible experience and my favourite stay. I'd come back in a heartbeat, and can't wait to return.
