Svok Hotel

The room itself was decent, and we appreciated the Coway water refill station, but the toilet was the biggest letdown. It was dirty, with visible stains and build-up around the bowl, so cleanliness needs work. We arrived early after a long journey without sleep, but the hotel wouldn’t allow early check-in even after we explained. There’s no lift, which made carrying luggage upstairs tiring. The room wasn’t soundproof either. For a better chance at resting, we’d suggest a room without windows.

The noise people mention in other reviews is absolutely real. Since the hotel is in a shoplot, we could hear cars outside, drunk people singing after restaurants, and music or TV from the next room. The windows also don’t have blackout curtains, so shoplot lights come into the room at night. Bring a sleep mask and good earplugs. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a comfy bed, decent shower pressure, hair dryer, liquid soap and shampoo, disposable slippers and an in-room safe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple and self-service in the lobby, with toast, eggs, cereal, coffee and tea.

I enjoyed my stay and would come back. The hotel looks good, the room was clean and cosy, and the staff were attentive. It’s easy to find food and groceries nearby, and they provide parking. I had a twin room without windows, which was nice, though soundproofing could be better since we could hear people talking next door, haha. The hallway is a bit dark too, so lighting up the room numbers would help.

The receptionist was polite and nice, and the 24/7 reception is a plus. There’s even a mini mart for quick things. I’d stay again next trip. The shared walkway to the rooms is clean but a little too dark. The rooms are mostly windowless, which seems common for hotels above commercial shop units. Mine had a TV, lots of lighting, clothes hangers and what I needed. The air conditioning worked well, but the filter was full of dust and set off my allergies immediately. The kettle needs cleaning or replacing too. The shower and toilet had what I needed, but need proper cleaning and checking: the shower head was dirty, the hair dryer dusty, and I’d suggest keeping a spare toilet roll in the bathroom.
