OYO 90050 V Hotel

I’m really disappointed with V Hotel, Teluk intan. I booked through booking.com five days before arrival and asked about payment. They said I could pay at check-in. I also told reception I’d arrive between 9pm and 10pm because I was coming from JB, and they agreed. On the day, I called around 7pm to say I was on my way, and the receptionist aunty said okay. When I arrived at about 9.45pm, the aunty rudely told me my room was banned because I was late and her boss had asked to cancel the booking. She said she’d called several times, but there were no calls from the hotel in my log, which I showed her. I accept that I arrived late, but I had informed reception already. They should call customers if they need to cancel, since they may be traveling a long way. How was I supposed to find another place during peak season? OYO management should address this. I’m not blaming anyone, but this was a really bad experience and makes me question booking this kind of hotel again.

They charged me the full amount at check-in, then cancelled my booking under booking.com. One bed was broken, the entrance light didn’t work so we had to get ready by sunlight, water leaked from the ceiling above the shower, and the bidet shower was broken. When we took extra time to check out, the receptionist was rude. Nobody called or informed us, she just came in shouting as we were leaving and charged another Rm20 for less than an hour. The service was already awful, and they still made me pay extra for checking out late.

Worst hotel I’ve checked into. The receptionist was very rude and treated customers cheaply. The room was dusty and unclean, the bathroom bowl was broken, and water leaked from the bathroom all the way to the room door. The lighting was dim, and the shower gel provided was expired.

The room was clean, Wi-Fi was fast, and the rate was very reasonable. There’s plenty of space to park, too. Miss YONG and miss KIN at the front desk were both polite, kind, and helpful. They kept reminding guests not to park in front, since the municipal council may issue a ticket if you forget to pay the parking coupon. Parking behind the hotel is free.
