Liquid Dive Adventures

The dive had a strong current, and nobody warned us. It clearly wasn’t right for our level, even though the instructors knew the conditions. I got seasick and no one checked on me or offered help. I was basically ignored until it was time to pay. The whole experience was disappointing, with chaotic organization from beginning to end, and it felt like money mattered more to them than customers’ well-being.

The highlight was swimming as a mother whale and her calf came toward us and then passed by. They felt so close, and spray from the blowhole could have showered us. We knew it was a big maybe, so I’m very grateful we got that moment. We’d booked a humpback whale encounter hoping to swim with them, and weren’t disappointed. Emilia and Pedro led our group of five. Getting into and out of the water from the beach in the zodiac was exhilarating, and we were lucky to have calm water. We spotted whales and tried to see them more closely from the boat. Emilia shared detailed information while we listened to the whales singing. The swim in the deep, dark water was fun too. Thank you, Emilia and liquid divers, for being professional and transparent from start to finish.

I noticed one foreign instructor acting aggressively toward the local staff, which made a bad situation worse. The equipment was in horrible condition, and they had to replace my regulator twice. I felt very unsafe throughout the dive because safety protocols were completely ignored. This was a terrible experience at the dive center, with no atmosphere at all. It was the most boring dive center I’ve ever visited, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. If I come back to Tofo, I’ll choose another dive center.
