I felt unsafe in this dormitory. It’s a tent with only a zipper and no keys, in what seemed like a dangerous area, and at €20 it’s too expensive. Breakfast was poor too. Being so close to the road made it very noisy, with truck horns at 4 am and cars during the night.

The owner gave us a heads-up about woodwork starting at 9 AM, which was helpful. Our twin room was comfortable and had mosquito nets, the Wi-Fi was good, and the shared toilet and shower were spacious. There was a little street noise, but it died down at night. Secure parking fits up to two cars. The owner was so friendly and made our first time and second day in Moz a great one. I’d return in a heartbeat.

Edit, 10 July 2017: I wrote my first review after a tiring 40-hour bus trip from Maputo to Nampula. Ruby's is clean, has a nice atmosphere, and the staff are lovely and always helpful. There was no running water while I was there.

Right in the heart of Nampula city, this place has a homely feel if you’re not into hotels. The owner and staff were incredibly helpful. I’d definitely stay again. It’s an incredible oasis.
