Everything else at the restaurant was really good. I didn’t care for the ice cream they use in desserts such as the petit gateau, though. It’s the cheap Farmhouse kind, with a grainy texture and not much taste.

Hospitality and politeness were poor, and they weren’t flexible about anything. I arrived just a few minutes late for breakfast and was refused even a glass of juice or water, then asked to pay.

The restaurant is a real highlight, with some dishes that would be hard to find even in Maputo. This brand new five star hotel stands out from the other hotels around it and is probably Nampula’s crown jewel. There’s Wi-Fi coverage throughout, plus a business lounge, so work trips should be easy too.

The Indian food at Grand Plaza hotel was fantastic, from biryani and curry to Indian sizzlers. The service was quite good as well.

I came here to recover after being diagnosed with malaria and typhoid in the village. The room was nice, and I really liked the food and massage. I felt close to dying on the first day, but after a week I was back to 100%.
