San Martinho Beach Club

The rooms were lovely, modern, and renovated, and the pool area was nice. The beach loungers could use some care. Paulos helped us arrange activities, and I’d definitely recommend him. We had a good visit overall, and a day trip to the lagoon mouth is well worth doing. Bring shade, the water there is amazing. We stayed for a week, Friday to Friday, and hadn’t been back in 5 years. It’s become a tourist hotspot. The weekend was unpleasant, with people partying and loud music at all hours, plus drunken behaviour that nobody addressed. After the party crowd left on Monday, things got quieter and we had a pleasant week as more families filled the lodge. Families should be ready for weekend noise. I also didn’t like how jet skis were prioritised in the lagoon, leaving only a few small swimming patches where the water barely reached waist height.

I really like the location, setup, and extra activities. But my family and I were left waiting outside while security checked whether we Mozambicans had permission to come in. We had gone specifically to have a family meal at the restaurant, and there wasn’t a single car in the restaurant parking area. That did NOT sit well with us.

San Martinho left us with lovely memories and a real appreciation for everything it offers. The place has a lively feel and a lot of charm. From the moment we arrived, we were taken with it, and the whole stay was exciting and enjoyable. It exceeded what we expected. Awesome experience.

The views are incredible, and there’s so much to do here, from boat rides and Jetski to massages and miniature golf. It’s kid friendly, the staff are friendly, and you won’t run out of activities. The restaurant is the weakest part of the resort. The staff are friendly and the food is decent, but with everything else so good, you expect the restaurant to match it. They’re friendlier to foreigners at times, and local customers can be neglected. There’s a clear order to who gets served first. The rooms had a slight but noticeable mold smell. The newer rooms are definitely the better choice.
