José at the bar made the drinks and dinner memorable. The prawns were cooked perfectly, and the cream caramel was delicious. You can walk straight from the property to the beach, and there are two pools for hot, lazy days. I’d definitely come back. Aguia Negra in Vilancolos was the best of the five places I’ve stayed in the area. It’s good value, with friendly, capable reception staff and a well-equipped room. The air conditioning was a decent size, and the bathroom had a bath, shower, and separate toilet. Little touches like a dressing table, TV cabinet, and sofa made the room stand out even compared with higher-rated places.

We’ve been coming to the restaurant for years, but lately the service has really disappointed us. At lunch, the food took a long time, and service was slower than usual. We made our own tea and coffee at the drinks bar, then were charged Mt150 each for a tea bag and a Ricoffy sachet. There were no cups or spoons until we asked, and no background music. When we questioned the drink prices, nobody responded. They have a POS system but gave us a handwritten bill on paper. I don’t think we’ll be back.

We were welcomed warmly for dinner. Since we had another reservation later, we ordered one fish main to share, just to try the food. They brought it on two plates, and even after we confirmed it was a single meal split between us, we were charged for two. A little disappointing.
