We had a breathtaking view of the sea from our superior room, and the property is well maintained. The manager was wonderful, the staff very friendly, and the location is excellent for a few days away. A truly lovely place to stay, with amazing views. I shared a few things with the manager, Rebecca, that could be improved: complimentary refillable drinking water, better separation between the toilet and living area, and more vegetarian choices. Still a great stay, 4 stars.

Rats in our room made us leave, and the response from reception left us concerned about hygiene at Baobab Beach Lodge. We had booked two nights through Booking.com. Shortly after arriving, we saw rats in our chalet, BF3, and another climbing into a neighbouring room. That raised serious concerns about health, sanitation, and possible contamination in a hospitality setting. We wondered whether rats could also get into food preparation or kitchen areas, which shouldn't be something guests have to worry about. When we reported it, reception showed little urgency or concern and asked whether we had food in the room. It felt as though we were being blamed instead of the problem being addressed, and the reaction gave us the impression this might already be a known issue. We no longer felt comfortable staying, so we couldn't go ahead with our planned visit. We were asked to cancel through the platform so a free cancellation could be processed. That was still pending when I wrote this, and I'll update the review depending on how it's resolved. It was a very disappointing experience, especially given the apparent sanitation issue and the lack of seriousness when we raised it.

The sunsets are amazing, and the clean, peaceful setting makes Baobab Beach Vilanculos one of my favourite places in Vilanculos. It's right by the beach, with beautiful views of the Bazaruto Archipelago. A lovely spot to relax, enjoy the ocean breeze, or explore the nearby islands.

The managers, Rebecca and Vincent, were so welcoming, professional, and always happy to help with a smile. Baobab Beach Lodge is beautiful and comfortable, and the accommodation is very affordable. The food is amazing, especially the pizza, which is a must-try. They’ve also added The Bulldog Divers, an on-site dive centre with fantastic staff and top-quality service. I highly recommend both Baobab Beach Lodge and The Bulldog Divers to anyone visiting Vilanculos.

Rebecca and Vincent made our stay feel special, and the customer service was excellent. The accommodation is beautiful, the food absolutely delicious, and their new on-site dive centre made the experience even better. Baobab Beach Lodge is a lovely place to stay, highly recommended!
