The staff were incredibly friendly during our stay, and we were moved to the front rooms. We still enjoyed the people at Baraka and the location, but the place needs investment from the owner. There’s no AC, mini fridge, water, soap, or insect spray in the rooms. We had lots of worms and roaches downstairs. I understand insects can be normal, but spray should be provided. The room at the back looked dark and in poor condition, with stains on the wall. Even the upgraded rooms would be acceptable for the price if they were renovated. Breakfast costs 8€ a day and is just okay. The only choices are eggs and eggs, with no fruit, water, or orange juice, just instant coffee. Water is available at reception, but costs a lot. For that price, there are better options overall.

The view was the best we saw in vilanculos, and the rooms are great. A lovely little piece of heaven, with the most chilled, homely feel. gadi the owner and his crew are welcoming and amazing people. Very recommended.

The cabin view was stunning, truly unforgettable, and being right on the waterfront meant easy beach access. The owner, staff, and other guests were all a pleasure to meet and spend time with. There’s a ready bar, and the kitchen food was delicious. Such a stunning place to stay, I enjoyed it so much and wish I hadn't left. Can't recommend it enough, and hope to visit again someday.

From the beach rooms the views are amazing, and at very low tide you can walk out for about a mile before the sea rises again in the afternoon. It’s an amazing natural wonder. We found the rustic rooms very comfortable for a relaxing, low-maintenance holiday. The small team were hands-on and accommodating, arranging activities at reasonable rates. Avner the owner and visionary, Linda the manager, and Ajau the barman were all amazing. The accommodation had only been open for three weeks at the start of Jan 2019, so facilities were still being worked out for different guests, and they welcome feedback as they improve. Well worth a visit.

We felt like we were visiting family and coming home. Ague, Wilson, and the staff were kind, welcoming, and accommodating, always asking about our day, our experience, the food, and whether they could make us more comfortable. They greeted us with “Welcome home”. The relaxing setting helped us feel part of the Mozambican community, and we picked up some of the local language. Our traditional Baraka Mozambique home had an authentic feel, with views of the beach and fishing boats. You can walk down to the beach and take part in local customs, including buying fresh seafood there. The seafood was sourced that day and prepared excellently. Ague arranged a recommended day trip to Bazaruto Archipelago with a reputable company. It was all really good value for money. Zibongele (thank you) Baraka!
