We went in July, and the road to the camp was in really good shape. It’s a lovely spot in the park, with comfortable tents that have everything you need. The staff were friendly and helpful, and at night you can hear animals moving around outside. Such a lovely feeling.

The room can get hot at times since there’s only a fan, but the camp’s location in the beautiful reserve made that easy to put up with. We went in December and found Jackalberry Tented Camp to be one of the most wonderful places on our trip. Wildlife was everywhere, whether we joined a game drive, boat cruise or night drive, or simply stayed at camp and watched elephants go by and antelopes right in front of our room. It’s also a paradise for bird lovers and photographers. The staff did everything they could to make our stay lovely, and we’d definitely return if we get the chance.

I fell asleep to bell frogs, with a huge male lion just about 5 meters away. It’s a remote little piece of wildlife heaven and one of the best safari experiences I’ve had. The staff were really friendly, the meals were great with locally grown vegetables, and the accommodation was amazing. A must!

The food was good and there was plenty of it, and Simone was incredibly kind, always ready to help and make us feel at home. The staff were professional and friendly too. It’s a beautiful, charming place with a unique design, set in an unparalleled environment. I have only lovely things to say. We dream of coming back soon.
