We stopped at Namib Desert Camping2Go for a night while travelling from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund. The tent was roomy, with four beds, an outdoor fridge, and a proper bathroom with a big shower, very welcome after a long drive. The whole setup felt like a well-equipped campsite, and we could also use the lodge facilities. Its pool is large and pleasant, and we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The main lodge looked like it could get busy, but it didn’t affect us. The tents are about a five minute walk away and were quiet and private. We had some very rough weather, first a sandstorm, then a thunderstorm with heavy rain, and sand got all over the tent inside and out. That wasn’t the staff’s fault. Before the storms, the tent was clean, and around 8 PM the team came back to clean everything properly, beds included. We appreciated it and slept comfortably. A jackal even visited us that evening. The surrounding nature looked beautiful, but we didn’t have time to explore much and would do that next time. We thought the activity prices, especially for the sundowner drive, were high and decided to skip it.

There were several oryx and a few giraffes right around our tent, which was lovely to see. The tents are clean, spacious, and comfortable, with hot water in the shower. Deadvlei is about an hour's drive away. WiFi is at the lodge, around 1 km from the tents, and there’s a nice pool too. Dinner is a buffet for about 450 ND, or you can pick up sandwiches, salad, and meat to cook yourself at the lodge. The restaurant serves lighter meals until 3 pm. Good value for money.

The location really makes the stay, it feels like being right out in the desert. I knew there was no aircon, though I still wished the water cooler could do that job. The tent was clean, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom was especially roomy and tidy. We stayed two nights in December.

The dark nights made for great astrophotography, and there was plenty of wildlife and birdlife to photograph too. It’s a lovely oasis in a very dry region. The staff were friendly and helpful from arrival to departure, and the tents were well equipped. The huge bathroom, with closet space, a big shower, and extra touches, was a very nice surprise. Well worth visiting.

We couldn't stay, so this is about the booking service rather than the accommodation. Like many properties in Namibia booked through Booking.com, this one asks for non-refundable prepayment. Heavy rain led our car hire company to advise us not to travel south for safety reasons, but management wouldn't make an exception. They asked us to 'release the room' while still refusing a refund. The only alternative they offered was credit for July, which is very impractical for international travellers. A transferable voucher valid for six months would have seemed like a reasonable compromise. Be aware that once you book, they may offer no flexibility.
