Chobe Princess By Mantis

The staff were kind and really did try to accommodate us. Still, the boat itself fell short of what we expected. The room was clean, but the bed was uncomfortable and noisy, and there was a petrol smell in our room all three days. Being in it every day gave me headaches. As a pescatarian, I struggled with the food. Meat eaters may find it decent, but I was served hake at nearly every meal, prepared the same way, and the fish wasn’t good. Service took a long time, so we spent far too much time at the table. Finishing dinner at 9:30 when they expected us upstairs by 6 was ridiculous. The Chobe River setting is fantastic, though, and the wildlife around you all day, with the boat constantly on the move, makes for amazing views. Seeing animals pass while you eat or relax in your room is special. But that experience isn’t unique to the Chobe Princesses, and I don’t think we’d return to any of Mantis’ houseboats.

Comfort and hospitality were top-notch on this Chobe River cruise. The wildlife was incredible too, with front-row seats to a pride of lions fighting over a monitor lizard in a tree at the water’s edge. It should be part of any trip to the region. Highly recommend it!

We had two really special, relaxing days aboard the Chobe Princess II as a family of seven. The hosts were so friendly, and we learned a lot on the water safaris. The cuisine was amazing. Thank you so much, it’s an experience we’ll always remember and cherish.

Pairing Ichingo Lodge with our stay aboard Chobe Princess 1 gave us two very different, special experiences. On the boat, everything was well arranged, from the excursions to the delicious meals. The staff were amazing and attentive, and the bar was well stocked for sunset cocktails. We had a lovely cabin at the front, with a spacious balcony. A big herd of elephants was there to see from the start, which felt special, and we saw plenty of other wildlife on the boat trips too.
