We stayed at Hoodia Desert Lodge for our honeymoon, and it more than lived up to what we'd hoped for. The welcome was warm, and the service is unmatched in Namibia. The chefs deserve real congratulations: the food could hold its own in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Each private, ultra-luxury chalet has room to park your car right outside, plus indoor and outdoor showers with spectacular views over the Sesriem desert. The pool looks out over the desert too, and the water was refreshingly cool despite the heat. For stays longer than two nights, a sundowner experience and a safari to Sossusvlei with a picnic at Deadvlei are included, with plenty of food and drinks on both outings. This was one of the most incredible hotels in Namibia. Huge thanks to all the staff, especially Marcus.

The lodge is beautifully decorated, and we loved settling in with a few G&Ts or afternoon beers and a book. The accommodation was comfortable and warm, and the food had plenty of variety and was high quality. I still wonder how they manage that in the middle of the desert. The staff were hospitable and lovely, and made us feel like family. Don't miss the sundowners or the full-day tour. A luxury stay that never felt pretentious. Thank you for a wonderful time.

The owner was friendly and chatty, and liked arranging things for us and sharing useful information. We stayed for three days at the end of July. The rooms were beautiful, with stunning views, and the lodges sit far apart, so you don't feel disturbed by other guests. Dinner had a restaurant feel, and the trips to the famous sand dunes were well organized. They're about 30 minutes away. The sundowner came with another amazing view. You don't often find views like these.

The mountains and dunes around Hoodia Desert Lodge made a breathtaking backdrop, and the lodge itself felt luxurious and peaceful. As a couple, we had an unforgettable stay earlier this year and are still talking about it. From arrival, the staff's warmth and care made it feel like a romantic getaway. Everything went smoothly and surpassed what we expected. We can't recommend Hoodia Desert Lodge enough to couples looking for a romantic escape. It was the highlight of our year.

From the warm welcome to the heartfelt goodbye, it was clear that guests come first here. The food, wine, rooms and excursions were all done to a very high standard, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the lodge. It's beautifully set at the foot of a mountain, looking over the plains towards other mountain ranges.
