Ugab Terrace Lodge

We weren’t staying at the lodge, but booked an afternoon game and nature drive with Ugab Terrace Lodge and had an excellent time. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable from pickup to drop-off. They did their best to find wildlife, and there was plenty to see. When animals weren’t around, our guide Mayer told us about local plants, geography, and culture. He answered all our questions and happily worked around one guest who was very keen to take photos. If you’re staying in the valley or just passing through, their drives are well worth booking.

Breakfast on the terrace with a view of the Vingerklip was extraordinary. Dinner was buffet-style, and our spacious room looked out across the valley, with beautiful sunsets in the evening. The lodge sits on a high ridge in the middle of nature, and every lodge overlooks a valley. One small issue: the breakfast buffet wasn’t always replenished, so it sometimes felt a bit sparse. That’s something to improve. Otherwise, nothing but praise.

We spent one night at this hilltop lodge and had an almost 360 degree view. The room was good, with a perfect view from the bed, and the staff were very nice and helpful. From the restaurant terrace, you get a perfect look at Fingerklips rock.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was splendid, with a large terrace and a great view, and the dining area had a nice terrace too. The view itself is spectacular, the staff are very nice, and both dinner and breakfast were superb. Everything was just perfect.
