We stayed for 3 days. The rooms were otherwise fine, and when we had a problem with the wine fridge, it was promptly replaced. But housekeeping only cleaned after the first day. Nothing was done for the remaining 2 days, no fresh towels, and the coffee and sugar sachets weren't replenished. The hot spring pool was great, though very slippery, and so was the outdoor pool. They switched off the pool lights before the stated time, apparently to make day visitors leave, which left in-house guests in the dark. The food was a problem. The meat came either completely raw or overcooked. The game meat was so overdone it felt like chewing a wine cork. Some staff were helpful, while others were blunt and unhelpful. Restaurant staff didn't follow protocol, and there was a lot of confusion and poor communication for in-house guests on the DBB package. The restaurant atmosphere was off-putting too. You could hear other guests chewing and talking.

This place may once have been beautiful, but it seems well past its prime. It felt empty and dirty, with bits of rubbish outside and algae floating in the pools. The outdoor pool looked nice from the outside and was warm, but slimy algae filled the grout between the tiles once I got in. The indoor area was awful. There were cracks in the walls, peeling paint, and what looked like mold. It was hot, the jacuzzis were out of order, and the only "functioning" indoor pool had its jets switched off, was about a foot below the top, and had a dead centipede floating in it. It really didn't seem fit to use. I considered asking for my money back, but just wanted to get out. We left 45 minutes after arriving, and only stayed that long to have a drink at the restaurant. I can't comment on the hotel because we didn't stay there.

The pool was a nice temperature, but it was full of algae. The grounds were dirty, with little bits of rubbish lying around, and the grass looked like it was going bald. The restaurant food was rubbish. My wife's steak arrived raw, and they put her whole plate in the microwave, leaving everything soggy. When I asked if they could bake a birthday cake for my daughter, the staff were too afraid to ask the chef because he was "in a foul mood." It felt like whoever manages this place has no pride in neatness or maintenance. I've visited more than 20 hotels, lodges and resorts, and this was by far the worst. Fire the management and get competent people.

The outdoor swimming pool is big, warm, and has a nice view of the lake. It's a good place to relax and get away from routine, and the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. But buying access to the indoor hot tub was a big waste of money. The room was extremely hot, the water was over 40°C, and there was no fan or airflow. There was mold on the walls and ceiling, and even inside the hot tub. The jacuzzis were out of use, so don't buy hot tub access. The outdoor pool is nice, but there aren't enough sunbeds for everyone when it gets busy in the afternoon, even though there's plenty of space. The lodge's only shop had a broken fridge, so we couldn't buy a cold drink.

I took a weekend off for a business trip with my mates and was really excited about the place. But when we arrived, service was poor and we had to wait for the rooms to be prepared. The rooms were terrible, with no WI-FI and a glitchy TV. I'm pretty sure this place used to be a 10/10 in its prime, but now it needs a lot of work.
