Otjiwa Mountain Lodge

The bungalow was luxurious, with a deck looking out over the land where we regularly spotted wildlife and birds. We also had excellent dinner and breakfast, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We took both an afternoon and a morning game drive with Jason, the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide we met during our two weeks in Namibia. There was plenty of wildlife, and seeing two white rhinos up close was a holiday highlight. Our plane arrived late in Windhoek, so we reached the entrance gate after dark and were greeted with a smile. The drive through the park to the lodge is about 8 km and well signposted. Giraffes and antelopes crossed in front of our headlights. The lodge itself is wonderful, with a lovely atmosphere and thoughtful decor. A dream destination!

We stayed at the Otjiwa campsites, which were very clean and had great facilities. Cycling is a must, with lots of wildlife to spot. The restaurant and its service were superb, and there’s a lovely little greenhouse garden to explore. Otjiwa is absolutely wonderful.

The rooms and shared spaces are absolutely gorgeous, and the food was great. Would recommend!
