Janko was so kind and welcoming. He shared the story of the place and the area, and I really hope he can keep its history alive for years to come. The building has over 100 years behind it, and that history is what makes it beautiful. We stayed one night. The rooms have an old-fashioned style, but that didn't bother us. Thanks again for the hospitality, and all the best to him.

We were the only campers during our stay, which was lucky since the bathrooms were being renovated a bit. Just be aware the camping showers are cold. The facilities were tidy, and the small covered kitchen area came in handy when we got caught in a thunderstorm. We were welcomed warmly too. I'd recommend taking a walk to the bridge.

The campsites have good Wi-Fi, electricity from a solar setup with batteries and an inverter, and enough hot water for an evening and morning shower from the wood-fired donkey. There are three vehicle sites at the bottom, to the left of the hotel. The basic ablutions cover what you need, though they could use a makeover. We had a great night here. We arrived late in the afternoon and were offered drinks at the honesty bar, a very friendly gesture. We didn't go inside the building, so can't comment on the rooms. The newly built Neckartal Dam, Namibia’s newest and biggest dam, is worth a visit too.

There was a bit of confusion with our booking, but once that was sorted, we had a very pleasant stay. The place has an intriguing history.

The manager drove us into the nearest town so we could pick up SIM cards and groceries, which was a big help. We’re two cycle tourists from New Zealand and camped here for two nights. From our grassy campsite we had fast Wi-Fi, a handy place to charge our phones, and hot water. We ate here both nights and really enjoyed the food. A great stay, highly recommended.
