Hilton Garden Inn Windhoek

We’d absolutely stay here again. It’s in a very safe area, with restaurants, shops, and grocery stores nearby. The breakfast buffet was solid, and the pool and gym were well maintained. Our room was clean and spacious, with strong Wi-Fi, effective air conditioning, good bathroom amenities, and blackout curtains that worked well. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful throughout. Special thanks to Mahomed, Garth, Queen, Lucas, and the whole team for going out of their way to assist us. The late checkout was much appreciated.

We stayed twice. The first visit went smoothly, but on the second, our room wasn’t ready at 3pm. After waiting a while, we were upgraded to a suite because they still couldn’t say when the room would be ready at 4.30. Parking costs extra, either N$100 through the hotel or paid directly. The cost works out roughly the same unless you leave your car parked the whole time, in which case paying directly is the way to go.

We had very poor service. There was a water leak in our first room, and nobody came to look at it despite three calls to housekeeping. We asked to move rooms, and that was arranged promptly. The front desk staff weren’t helpful when we wanted to buy something from the shop. At checkout, we were asked to pay N$60 for parking, while other hotels in the area offer it free. With so many other places nearby, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The location is great, and the hotel is very clean. There’s self-service laundry, though you have to buy your own detergent. The rooms had an unpleasant smell that made me feel dizzy. Breakfast is available, but only for an expensive extra charge. Also, this hotel isn’t connected to the Hilton hotel.
