The hilltop setting above the private reserve is stunning, with outstanding views and a special atmosphere. The kitchen made excellent food and consistently went the extra mile. Ndeshi, Ludo, Moses and Toini were wonderful and helped make our stay memorable. We chose full board after weighing up the comparatively high game drive prices, especially for seeing predators. One thing to know is that full board here includes soft drinks, beer and house wine, but no liquor, unlike at many other lodges. Massages also cost extra. We had a recurring rodent problem during our stay. A mouse got into our room on both nights, making noise, moving our personal belongings, and coming very close to where we slept. The staff on duty handled it professionally, offered to move us in the middle of the night, and waived part of the bill. We appreciated that. We still recommend the lodge for its scenery and genuinely warm people, though we found better value elsewhere in Namibia for the price.

Moses was a brilliant guide on our game drives. His knowledge of wildlife, birds, and the landscape was the best we came across in Namibia. He tracked well and always found what we hoped to see, and we felt safe with him throughout. The location is stunning, with views across the plains that kept us reaching for the binoculars. The food was great and all the staff were wonderful, going out of their way to look after us. We had an amazing stay at Habitas and would recommend it.

Seeing three lions up close was the highlight of our safari, an unforgettable sight. Our guide Moses took his time finding animals and shared lots of interesting details about how they behave and live. The whole drive was breathtaking. Thanks for a wonderful experience, highly recommended! 🌅🦁

We had a beautiful stay at Our Habitat. The surroundings and views are stunning, the atmosphere is lovely, and the included activities were fun. The receptionist was especially kind and helpful, and the rest of the staff were welcoming too. The meals were fresh, delicious, and creative. The team put real effort into vegan requests, and room service was excellent. Our rooms were clean, nicely designed, and simply but tastefully furnished. A couple of cats on the property are incredibly cute, though they didn’t seem to be regularly fed or cared for. It would be lovely if someone were assigned to look after their wellbeing. A few things could be better: we sometimes had trouble communicating in English with a younger waitress, the bathroom smelled unpleasant when the water was running, the room lighting was a bit dim, and there weren’t quite enough sunbeds or lounge areas around the pool and shared spaces. The disappointing part was our “Predator Game Drive” with Moses. We’ve been on many game drives, but this time the animals, especially the lions, seemed to be approached too closely several times. One lion was actively chased for very close photo opportunities, and the animals appeared visibly stressed. When we raised concerns respectfully a few times, the guide reacted defensively and said he knew better. The dismissive tone made us uncomfortable and we couldn’t enjoy the drive anymore. Wildlife conservation and respectful interactions with animals should come first on game drives. We hope this is handled more sensitively in the future. It’s a beautiful place with lots of potential, and some improvements could make it perfect.
