The lounge and bar were nice, though the music was a bit loud for someone older like me. I enjoyed my one day at Tate Village, and the staff were kind, patient, and helpful. The room was very nice, and I really appreciated that they provided a fan. The amenities were good. The pool could’ve been cleaner, but that didn’t spoil the stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a relaxing place.

The mosquitoes were plentiful, and the curtains were dirty and damaged. I hadn’t realized before arriving that it was a backpackers, and that should be made clear. Music from the bar was very loud all night, while other guests were making noise in the passages until 4:00 in the morning. There were bunk beds. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

The kitchen equipment worked, the restrooms were organized, and the internet was functional. It’s a welcoming, well-organized place. They should keep the pool clean all the time, and a partnership with takeaway companies would be a good idea.

I spent two months at TaTe Village and had an amazing time. The renovated rooftop is a great spot to unwind, watch the sunrise or sunset, and take in the view over all of Windhoek. The whole place is clean, safe, and fun, and the workers are all so nice and really make it stand out. I’ll stay there again when I come back!
