Hotel le Paris

We booked a Superior Family Room for 2 Adults + 2 Children through Hotels.com for one night, but arrived late in the evening to find a room set up for three, with three beds, cups, and towels, plus a camp bed in the middle. This was especially frustrating with an early flight the next day. Three weeks before arrival, the hotel had messaged to say the reservation was based on three people and asked us to change it. I checked my booking, which clearly said 'Superior Family Room; 2 Adults + 2 Children', and wrote back asking them to flag any problem. I heard nothing, so assumed it was settled. At check-in I asked for the room we'd booked, but was told none were available. After a delay, a very nice receptionist said she'd spoken with the manager and could offer another double room at no charge. I declined because I didn't want to split up the family with two small kids. I got everyone settled and took the camp bed, but it wasn't set up properly and collapsed when I lay down. I put it back together and slept badly before the early start. Pretty irritating and poor service. Hotels.com offered to connect me with its relocation team, which wasn't practical, and the hotel declined a refund. The hotel itself was okay. Only two of the four lights worked, the shower was okay, and we had to remake one bed because the bedding wasn't right. I'd suggest booking elsewhere if you can.

The location is convenient, though the street felt a bit dark and gloomy to me. The staff were helpful, but charged 100xpf to call a taxi, something I haven't encountered in many other countries. It's a clean, spacious budget hotel, and wasn't that noisy considering it's in the city centre. The bed and pillows were clean but uncomfortable. I'd recommend it if you're only staying in Noumea before heading out to the islands.

It's fairly priced, and the clean rooms have what you need, though they're not very large. The location is good, with Le Best café right next door. The staff don't speak English, so weren't very helpful when I needed something. We also had to pay the receptionist's taxi call before leaving. That fits New Caledonia, though :)

A handy, affordable option for one night right in the city centre. The rooms are simple and small, but have what you need for eating. Staff were friendly and responsible, and there are several parking spaces at the hotel.
