Noom Hotel Niamey

The airport pickup shuttle was efficient, and the brochette was excellent. The rooms were clean and fine, but small, and could use some maintenance. I was one of very few guests during my two weeks there, sometimes with only nine people or fewer in the hotel. I asked about a larger room and was told I could pay more, which was fair enough, but with the place so empty, I found that unfriendly. There was no extra effort to make me feel welcome, and I paid full price for everything, including food and drinks, with no guest discount. Some staff were nice, but service was often extremely slow. One staff member even got quietly aggressive one night after my room service order was forgotten. The restaurant rarely answered room service calls, so I had to go downstairs or call two or three times. Breakfast was rubbish. The croissants smelled of fish and weren't always fresh, though the buffet seemed reduced because there were so few guests. The weekend buffet looked nice, but I didn't try it. I'd avoid returning if I can. It was far too expensive for the service, and the general attitude was pretty poor.

The outdoor area and its wonderful view are what I liked most. The place feels welcoming, the service is great, and the hotel is very modern with almost all the features you'd expect, including WiFi. Noom seems a good choice for a conference, business meeting, or weekend hangout with friends. I didn't look at the rooms myself, but I guess they're comfortable and modern.

The rooms are modern and pretty, though not very spacious, and the gym is too small with little equipment. I liked the cool, contemporary feel inside, even if the lobby and hotel overall aren't large. It's in a good spot in Niamey, and the staff are very kind. The restaurant serves international food, and the Sunday brunch is really good. Mr. Jacobs has been very nice whenever I've been there. You can also have dinner outside by the pool. A good hotel overall.

For a short work trip, I'd recommend it. Inside, the hotel feels stylish and calm, and the buffet was tasty, though there were only six dishes for the price. The free drinks were limited to mint or flavored water, and the dessert was heavy with an off taste. The staff seemed to know their jobs, but they were slow and inattentive. The outside didn't impress me, and the rooms, restaurant, reception, and overall look felt average. Parking is tight too. I couldn't get my 4x4 in or out without maneuvering three times. They should review the dishes and give the staff more training.
