I stayed over the weekend of November 22nd, 2025. The building seems to have been well built, but it’s clear that upkeep has fallen behind. In my room, both the fixtures and furniture showed their age. The air conditioner was noisy, the duvet was very old, and the door looked as if it had been broken before, among other things. A focused round of repairs and renovation could make the hotel worth its current rates, with the cheapest rooms at 45k.

The food was neither good nor bad, and the service was really poor. The hotel does serve its basic purpose, but it’s badly managed. My room had tiny roaches, and the toilet smelled.

There were no power cuts during my 24-hour stay, which was especially good. The hotel is in Ibara, with easy access to the state’s economic hub, and it’s a good place to stay if you’re coming from Lagos via the expressway. My room was big, clean, and nice. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would gladly come back again and again.

The refreshing pool was a welcome break from the Nigerian heat, and the staff were courteous and attentive. I was also pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable the room was. Its central location made it easy to explore the area. Some parts could use maintenance and updating, but I’d still recommend Continental Suites for a comfortable, enjoyable stay in Abeokuta.
