The hall entrance has a soothing painting by renowned artist Iklaga K' Otukpo. Inside, the chandeliers and lighting look state of the art, and there’s a high tech teleprompter for stage activities. The neat restroom and several exits help with crowd control. Parking is organized and secure, and the hillside scenery is beautiful enough to make you want to capture the day on film. If you get an invitation, go!

I commend the military brass who came up with the idea for the Armed Forces Officers Mess & Suites (AFOMS). It’s a wonderful place for events or to spend time with friends, family, or by yourself. The peace, scenery, service, and tranquility make it suitable for family or romantic visits, or for anyone looking for privacy. The facility is in Asokoro Extension along the AYA - Zuba Expressway, just after Lungi Barracks and before Mpape Bus Stop. Turn off the busy expressway and drive about one km to reach it. The route has a striking view of highgounds and greenery, with a paved dual carriageway. The area is quiet, and the Mess is a modern, well designed and constructed building. The large parking area is paved in places and can handle guests’ cars during events. The events hall is spacious enough for big occasions, and its rental cost is moderate compared with similar venues in Abuja. There are clean conveniences, an outdoor lounging area, and a small sports centre nearby. The pools outdoors include one for children or learners and one for adults or good swimmers. There are indoor and outdoor places to drink and relax, plus lawn tennis, basketball, volleyball, and other games. The indoor lounge is well furnished for patrons’ comfort. They offer a wide selection of local, continental, and international food, along with assorted exotic drinks at reasonable prices. Meals, including soups, are alarcarte, so they’re served fresh and hot. Fresh, tasty snacks are available too. Clean rooms at reasonable prices are available for overnight stays. Security is one of the place’s biggest strengths, with armed military guards and uniformed private security. The surrounding area is also good for hiking, jogging, or strolling while taking in the natural scenery.

The rooms were clean, the facilities were great, and the staff were kind, so it was a good stay. Room service needs a lot of work, though.

The rooms were especially nice for the price, and both the food and room service were amazing. I also found the staff cordial and professional. The place has a lovely ambiance, peaceful surroundings, and top notch security. I loved it.
