Bella Afrik Suites and Apartment Hotel

The hotel itself is good, but the price listed online isn’t the price they ask for at reception. They tell you to pay in person, then the amount is higher, and they won’t let you use your hotel account. I have the receipt.

The only good thing was that the WiFi worked once. Otherwise, this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. There was often no water, and I spent hours unable to flush or shower. They’d bring water in a bucket after a lot of yelling. The toilet seat was cracked, the shower head was punctured and sprayed water everywhere, and every attempt to change rooms ran into a problem. They also charge 500 to use the microwave, 200 for a spoon and 500 for room service.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the location made it fairly easy to get around. The superior rooms are spacious and clean, with in-room safes and complimentary soap, shampoo, body lotion, toothbrushes and shower caps. The walls need some work, though, and there’s no soundproofing, so footsteps, conversations and pretty much everything else carry through. Thanks.

The setting is peaceful and looks and feels safe. I booked a basic, standard room, which was surprisingly comfortable for a category that’s often very tiny. The bed is good for a couple to get cozy in, lol. There aren’t many facilities, such as a pool or gym. The food was neither great nor bad, and they don’t serve alcohol, so drinkers should know that. I had a pleasant stay and would come back.
