Bon Hotel Imperial

The only small drawback was that the Wi-Fi could be stronger. Otherwise, BON Hotel Imperial in Wuse, Abuja, was a lovely, secure place to stay, suitable for business or leisure. It was clean, quiet, and beautifully maintained, with friendly, professional staff and a smooth check-in. My room was neat, well air conditioned, and very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and the pool area had a relaxing feel.

As I was leaving the hotel on 12 November 2025, a security guard stopped my taxi and said I needed to sign some documents. At the desk, they told me my room hadn’t been paid for and insisted I should pay. I said I’d paid two days earlier, and at first I was dazed because I knew which account I’d paid from and was running late. Just as I was about to pay again, I realized I could search using the name on the account they wanted me to pay into. A few minutes later, I found the receipt and showed it at the desk. When I asked why they waited until I was leaving to ask for the money, they had no answer. The taxi driver who picked me up said this happens at BON Hotel Imperial, and that they prey on people rushing to catch flights to get another payment out of them. I call that daylight robbery. Be careful when checking in and out.

Breakfast had few options, and the food was cold. Plates sat scattered on tables for a long time before anyone cleared them. That was the only time I saw a restaurant server during breakfast. Staff were also speaking vernacular very loudly.

It’s a pretty, newly built hotel with professional staff. We ate at the restaurant too, and the food was good and affordable. A good experience overall.
