I’m already missing Check Inn Gimbiya and will definitely be back. It really felt like a home away from home, and this was the first time I’ve actually enjoyed staying at a hotel in Nigeria. The place is beautiful and neat, with appealing rooms and kind, welcoming staff. The General manager was friendly too, and very handsome. The meals were great except for one salty dish. They made sure that didn’t happen again. Hmedix and Dubai mall are nearby and within walking distance. One thing needs fixing: please add a door hanger or DND sign for the doorknob. Housekeeping came into my room even after I clearly told both the housekeepers and reception that I didn’t want anyone entering.

For the whole week I had to climb the stairs to the fourth floor because guests couldn’t use the elevator. Restaurant service was especially poor too. They don’t seem to understand what complimentary breakfast is, or what a buffet means.

Service needs a lot of work, particularly at the restaurant, and the service elevator is a problem. I’d advise taking the stairs, since you could get trapped in the elevator.

The staff were up to the job, and the hotel was clean and tidy. It’s a peaceful, comfortable place, and I had fun. I’d definitely like to come back 💯

The bedroom amenities made up for the food menu, which could use more creative options. I especially liked the bathroom and the lighting. I was there for a work trip, and the stay was comfortable, though that may partly be because the hotel had only been commissioned four months earlier. I hope they keep it up. This place has the potential to become a regular choice. I won’t hold the uncreative name against them.
