Chinox Guest Inn

Room service was quick, and getting here is easy. It’s calm and affordable, with steady power and a generator when the lights go out. The bathroom is the main issue: it’s too small for such a large room, and the washbasin sticks out so much that sitting comfortably on the toilet is difficult.

It’s clean and peaceful, but the hotel feels old and is due for renovation. The bar looks dated and could use an upgrade, and the food needs improvement too. The setting itself is neat and serene.

The restaurant food was the main reason I gave Chinox five stars, and the staff really did their best. Chinox wasn’t my first choice, but I was glad I ended up here. The rooms are affordable and there’s power around the clock. It’s probably a two-star hotel at most, with no WiFi or complimentary breakfast, but the service was top notch. Thumbs up to them.

The catfish is the standout here. It’s a big serving in a bowl, prepared with vegetables and other seasonings, and there are side plates so about three people can share it. Just allow 45-60 minutes for it to be made, or order ahead. It goes well with alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. The place also has lodging and accommodation.
