Elomaz Hotels is now run by new management, and it used to be called Ayalla when I last stayed. The rooms have been improved since then, with attractive decor and useful features like AC, a fridge, TV, heater, electric kettle, hair dryer, good water pressure, a decent wardrobe, good lighting, a reading chair and table, and a comfortable bed. The hotel is in a convenient area, with easy access to several key places, and costs less than nearby alternatives. Accessibility around the building and compound is well thought out, with sloped pavement, automatic entrance and exit doors, and a working elevator. The food was decent, the laundry service did a good job, and breakfast was complimentary. There are also halls for professional and social events, as well as guest rooms. I'd make it a top choice next time I need a hotel in Abuja.

I stayed here because my cousin found this hotel as a private hideaway for security reasons. A few people had recognized me from Frazer suites, so privacy mattered a lot to me as a marine officer and Cardiologist. I stayed in my room except when going straight to the car. The AC leaked for two days, and I was sweating despite it supposedly being on. I complained, but it wasn't fixed. I later travelled to Lagos for a few days, then returned and spoke with Blessing about my checkout date and paying in full. She said they'd give me a discount because of the inconveniences and told me not to worry about the few hours after 12pm. I hadn't asked for compensation. On the day I was leaving, I called for help with my luggage. As I was heading to the parking lot to get in the car and go to the airport, Deborah stopped me and said I had to pay for the hours after 12pm. She knew about my checkout, and when I called about the bags, she said nothing. She didn't come to my room with the POS either, but chose to embarrass me in the parking lot. The money wasn't the issue, it was the humiliation, especially when time was tight and I had an international flight that night. As a USA marine officer and Cardiologist, I record everything just in case. I have proof of my conversation with Blessing and could have held onto it. I'll never forget this experience, and I'll remember it whenever I'm in nigeria. How can untrained, incompetent staff be put in charge of international guests? She clearly doesn't understand the implications of what she did. If I choose not to let it go, people may call me wicked. Elomaz, thank you for the embarrassment, humiliation, and poor service, even though I was kind to every one of your staff.

The surroundings are peaceful, the rooms are made for relaxing, and the service is top notch.

Since changing owners, the hotel has improved a lot. The rooms are clean and affordable, and everything works now. It's in a peaceful part of Garki, so keep Elomaz in mind next time you need somewhere to stay in Abuja. It was formerly Ayalla.

Customer service is still great, but I expected more after the change from Ayalla hotel to Elomaz. The rooms remain outdated and unkept even though rates went up. The work seems to have been mostly on the exterior.
