Glass Residence

The long balcony in my apartment was a lovely place to unwind. The units are spacious, tastefully furnished and modern, and the neighborhood is peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Getting in with a door code was convenient, and I didn’t have to keep track of a key or card. The Glass Residence, Idris Ibrahim Crescent, Jabi, Abuja is also an easy drive from most parts of Abuja, with Jabi Lake Mall just minutes away for shopping and Jabi Lake Park nearby for a run or an evening walk. I’ve stayed several times at The Destination, another Gidanka property, so I expected more here. The website advertised a washing machine, but there wasn’t one in the apartment. Water sat in the bathroom instead of draining properly, and the thin bedroom blinds let in too much light, with no blackout option. The complimentary breakfast was barely edible. The worst part was the other guests. There seemed to be many rowdy, questionable people, including “Yahoo boys” and similar types, making noise at all hours. It left the place feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. I call it “The Yahoo Residence” now. I won’t return or recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, respectable stay in Abuja. There are much better choices in the same area.
