Breakfast had tasty local and continental choices, and the staff were friendly and quick whenever I needed something. I also found the room clean, with the basics like AC, TV, and Wi-Fi. Mayfair Hotel in Wuse 2, Abuja is peaceful but still central, so getting around was easy. I had a good stay and would consider returning. It’s a nice affordable choice if you want somewhere quiet in Abuja.

The location is convenient and the staff were friendly and composed, but there were several problems. On Mondays the nightclub runs until around 6:00am, so you won't sleep if your room is on that side of the building. My TV stayed broken for all three nights. They kept saying the technician was on the way, and after I found the showerhead was faulty, I just put up with it instead of reporting it. I also left my eye drops in the room and called less than 24 hours after checkout. It took several calls before they checked, and in the end they said they couldn't find them.

I've stayed there twice, and it's very safe with reliable power. Management keeps making visible efforts to improve things. Taiwo is the person to go to with a problem, and Sir Toks is firm about service quality and staff discipline. I'll stay there again.

The staff woke us early to ask if we were coming down for breakfast, even though we'd already answered that the day before. We needed the sleep, and that call was frustrating. Breakfast took ages. I showed them a picture of a sunny side up egg, but after 25 minutes it arrived turned over and ice cold. The food was inedible, and coffee, tea, and water cost extra. The coffee came with instant powder and powdered milk, which made that especially ridiculous. Other problems started at check-in. I asked for the Wi-Fi password and was told it would be brought to the room. Someone arrived 30 minutes later, but the passwords didn't work. Once the internet finally came on, it still went out for several hours, and the TV didn't work either. The toilet seat was detached, and it took staff half a day to come fix it. We ended up at Mayfair because all the good hotels were booked. The place is lousy and dirty, everything is painfully slow, and the service staff seemed incompetent. The front desk was friendly, but not much help. I'd never choose this hotel again.
