The setting is peaceful, but I was disappointed by the state of the room and the booking information. The online price didn’t match what we were quoted at the hotel, so they should update it to avoid misleading customers. The bathroom walls had old soap scum stains, and the toilet looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. It made me wonder whether the sheets are changed at all. I also don’t understand why a hotel would use a brown duvet cover. Management needs to inspect the rooms and make sure the cleaners are doing their jobs.

The quiet, safe location worked well for a budget stay, and I had a good experience at New Golden Hotel in Abuja. My room was clean, the AC worked properly, and the staff were friendly.

There’s a pleasant sit-out area, and the staff were polite. The food tasted quite good, though the portions were small.

The rooms have wall stains, and the toilet has mold with part of the ceiling crumbling. For the price, maybe that’s to be expected, and I heard renovations are underway. They have a nice, friendly staff, a restaurant-like setup and a spa, but the facilities don’t live up to the concept.
